The aviation industry is one of the most complex and demanding industries in the world. Here, precision, safety and innovation are not just important - they are essential. But the road to market can be long. Ambiguities around certification requirements often lead to delays, increased costs and unnecessary barriers for companies looking to grow internationally. These are precisely the challenges that Certifly addresses. By creating a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange, the project will make it easier for more suppliers to take their place in international supply chains.
"Sweden has a strong tradition and broad expertise in technology, production and quality management, which gives us unique conditions. With Certifly, these strengths are put into practice by more companies achieving aerospace certifications. In this way, we are reducing the vulnerability of our supply chains, strengthening domestic capabilities and building the resilience needed to be stronger in a global and ever-changing future. As in many other industries, Sweden is technologically at the forefront, but maintaining that position requires more pieces of the puzzle, such as the ability to navigate complex regulations and international standards. Certifly will thus be a central part of the whole, from sustainable resource supply to finished product in the Swedish aerospace industry." says Victor Blom, Project Manager at Innovatum Science Park.
Behind Certifly is Aerospace Cluster Sweden as project owner, with Innovatum Science Park as project manager. Twelve companies and organizations are participating in the project - from global giants such as GKN Aerospace and Saab, to smaller specialist companies.
"I really believe in Certifly. The combined expertise gives us the opportunity to create consensus and guidelines that strengthen the capabilities of Swedish companies. At the same time, we can spread knowledge about what is required to become a certified supplier, both nationally and internationally," says Fredrik Olofsson, CEO of Aerospace Cluster Sweden.
The funders also have high expectations. "Certifly will develop the conditions for small and medium-sized enterprises to do business with the larger industries in the global market. Knowledge exchange and faster processes are crucial at a time when the global situation places ever higher demands on delivery capacity," says Yvonne Rosmark, Program Director of Innovair.
Certifly is still at an early stage, but the commitment is strong and the ambitions high. The goal is clear: for more Swedish companies to become certified suppliers in the aerospace industry - and thus strengthen Sweden's role in the global market.
