Citea releases AI platform for legal investigations - Fondia becomes customer

Citea's founders - Richard Davison, Erik Folke and Oskar Jonsson.

The startup Citea labs AB launches the AI-based platform Citea, which streamlines legal work and makes legal investigations faster and more accurate. At the same time, they sign the business law firm Fondia as a customer.

- We are excited about our partnership with Citea. Using Citea is not just a technical tool for us - it is a strategic move to stay ahead of the industry, offer more value to our clients and strengthen our position as a modern and innovative business law firm," says Helena Brandt, Senior Legal Counsel at Fondia.

Well-known problem in the legal industry

Legal investigations are often time-consuming processes where large amounts of legal material need to be reviewed and analyzed in order to answer specific legal questions.

Erik Folke, together with co-founders Richard Davison and Oskar Jonsson, wants to change the way legal investigations are conducted. With many years of experience as a lawyer, Erik saw how much time is spent reviewing and analyzing legal material, and how modern technology can increase both the efficiency and quality of legal work.

- Forensic investigations are still a time-consuming and complex process, despite advances in technology. Through dialogues with colleagues in the industry, it became clear that there is a great need for a more efficient and innovative method," says Erik Folke, co-founder of Citea.

Forensic investigation in seconds with agentic AI

The solution was Citea - a digital platform that uses agentic AI to conduct legal investigations in just a few seconds. The service works as an interactive legal assistant where the user asks a question and immediately receives a structured analysis with accurate answers and source references.

- With Citea, I can have a complete and structured legal investigation in just a few seconds. All relevant information is automatically compiled, which previously required significantly more manual work. This frees up time for qualified legal advice and at the same time creates added value for the client," Erik continues.

Fondia already offers all its Swedish lawyers to use the platform in their daily work and Erik says that the interest from the industry is great.

- We have initiated dialogue with several organizations that want to implement Citea in their operations.

For all those working in legal analysis

Citea is primarily aimed at law firms, government agencies, universities and accounting firms, but also other organizations that want to work more innovatively and efficiently with legal analysis.

- Our goal is to establish Citea as the leading legal AI platform in the Nordics and beyond in Europe, and to set a new standard for how legal investigations are conducted," Erik concludes.

Since 2025, Citea has been part of the Innovatum Science Park incubator.

Citea is one of more than 20 startup companies currently admitted to Innovatum Science Park's incubator in Trollhättan.
