New partnership opens up the defense and security market to dual-use companies
The need for new solutions in defense and public safety is growing rapidly. At the same time, many of these innovations originate outside the sector. A new partnership…
The transition to fossil-free industry is crucial for strengthening both competitiveness and sustainability in Västra Götaland. Through the AIDE (Advancing Industry, Digitization and Electrification) project, industry can meet the growing capacity needs and the bottlenecks that arise as digitization and electrification increase. AIDE's solutions contribute to more efficient energy use and reduced CO2 emissions, while creating new opportunities for sustainable growth.
The project starts in Trollhättan and develops concrete methods to achieve power-efficient electrification, based on two case studies. The first case study involves GKN in Trollhättan, where a large number of machines and furnaces provide a significant energy demand. The second case study takes a system-wide approach, by including Trollhättan Energi to optimize energy supply and reduce the consequences of capacity shortages.
Through AIDE's efforts, valuable outputs are created that include mapping to ISO ICE 61850 standards, development of scenarios and models for collaboration, and potential calculations with broad applicability. The project also enables new levels of data collection, sensor use and system integration, promoting the electrification of industry through advanced digitalization.
AIDE is led by Innovatum Science Park in collaboration with University West and a reference group of industry actors and stakeholders, who together lay a solid foundation for future collaborations and projects.
The project is funded with support from Vinnova, the Innovation and Research Program Advanced Digitization
