Trollywood Animation Business

Trollywood Animation Business will strengthen and develop companies in Västra Götaland that work with animation. This is done through skills development and international collaboration and is a step towards Trollhättan as a hub for Swedish animation.

Since 2015, Innovatum, the City of Trollhättan and University West have worked to make Trollhättan a hub for Swedish animation, which has resulted in a well-attended animation festival and a bootcamp for talent development. During the years of the festival, we have talked to many entrepreneurs in the animation industry and noticed that there are some needs that stand out. Among other things, there has been a demand for a Swedish meeting place for the animation industry, increased international collaboration and skills development. Trollywood Animation Business wants to meet these needs by working with internationalization and business and skills development.

Through Trollywood Animation Business, small and medium-sized enterprises in the West Swedish animation industry will gain a larger international network of contacts and expanded skills, which will enable them to do better business. In the long term, we hope that the project will contribute to making it easier to start new businesses and create jobs in this field thanks to the regional hub being developed in Trollhättan.

The overall aim of the project is to strengthen and develop animation companies in western Sweden.

We do this by:

• Identify and connect with potential business partners
• Develop the skills of West Swedish companies in the field of animation
• See how University West's animation education can be developed to better meet the needs of companies
• Investigate the conditions for "artist in residence" in Trollhättan
