The Production Technology Center (PTC) started in 2008 as an initiative between Innovatum Science Park, University West and the then Volvo Aero and SAAB to increase innovation capacity, develop production technology solutions and give small and medium-sized companies access to advanced equipment.
Today, the arena is run by the main parties Innovatum Science Park, University West, GKN Aerospace, Swerim and IUC West and 16 companies are active parties.
- For University West, the PTC is an arena for research collaboration and education. Experimental research is made possible by access to relevant equipment and the network ensures that the content meets the needs of industry.
- Through its involvement in PTC, GKN gains access to equipment and close contact with other players operating in the same technology areas. This raises the level of investment in research and development and creates the conditions for competence building and recruitment.
- In Innovatum Science Park'smission as a Science Park, PTC is the arena where companies and academia collaborate with the aim of developing technology and methods, increasing skills, attracting expertise and creating new business opportunities.
- IUC Väst sees the PTC as an opportunity for its member companies to meet experts and other companies and thus develop their company, products and strengthen competitiveness.
- Through its involvement in PTC, Swerim wants to increase collaboration with the region's companies and University West to achieve maximum industrial benefit.
