It was a day with an inspiring mix of both theoretical presentations and practical demonstrations. Production equipment is becoming increasingly complex and it is crucial to find efficient ways to build and integrate the equipment.
During the morning, the participants had to circulate between three different stations demonstrating new technologies. At one of the stations Jörgen Skoglund from SSP North showed a new way of building security systems with wireless technology that reduces the amount of fixed installation and provides increased flexibility.
At another station, Mikel Ayani from Simumatik talked about how to create a digital twin for testing and verification. Through the use of game engine technology, the creation of the digital twin can be simplified.
Kjell Hurtig from University West showed the machinery at the Production Technology Center and what can be produced with metallic 3D printing at a third station.
Lars Hartman, CEO of Verkstadsbolaget in Säffle, thinks the day has been rewarding, for his part, the wireless security solution and digital simulation were particularly interesting.
- "Meetings like this are valuable for both manufacturers and suppliers because they provide an opportunity for exchange and networking between the parties," says Lars. "And it's always fun to learn about new technology.
After lunch, held in the historic Saab Museum, participants first heard the exciting story behind the museum, how it came into being and how it survived bankruptcy. Then Johan Dahlström from University West talked about new opportunities in the battery value chain - production, reuse and recycling and Mikael from Simumatik did a deep dive into virtual commissioning.
In conclusion, it was a very rewarding day filled with exciting lectures and practical demonstrations that gave participants valuable insights and tools to take their production to the next level. There are plans to make this an annual event and we look forward to continuing to provide a platform to promote knowledge exchange and growth within the industry.
