- "We want to create a meeting place that can become the fishing industry's equivalent of Almedalen. This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the challenges and opportunities of the entire value chain," says Joakim Petersén, CEO of Finnvacum and one of the initiators of the Nordic Seafood Summit.
There are many indications that 2024 is the year of seafood, and this is where the future is happening," says Susanne Ekstedt, Innovation Manager at Innovatum Science Park.
Some 60 companies are exhibiting, while the stage program covers everything from sustainable oceans and marine side streams to new technology. There will also be a political session with topical discussions on food security and how both production and consumption of Swedish seafood can be increased.

A dozen innovative companies and researchers will also be on hand to pitch their business ideas and products. These include farm-raised fish, blue protein factories and Swedish-grown sugar kelp.
