Sunsurf Solar nominated for Startup of the Year

During the Trollhättan Business Awards on January 31, Innovatum Science Park will present the Startup of the Year award. Sunsurf Solar is one of three nominated companies.
Sunsurf Solar is developing floating solar farms that generate more energy than traditional solar farms, while optimizing land use and helping to reduce the risk of summer droughts.
Behind the innovation are childhood friends Martin Örgård, Marc Montgomery and Björn Larsson.
In 2024, the team installed Sweden's largest floating solar farm, which will produce 100 000 kilowatt hours per year. They secured a contract with the municipal utility Nårab in Skåne, and also won the Swedish Solar Energy Award's Achievement of the Year.
