- "I am so happy and excited about this collaboration! CMG is very active in creating a more equal sports world, just like us," says founder Jonas Björk, who himself played football at a professional level and has been working as a coach for 15 years.
Recruitment in the world of football is a time-consuming process and through the digital platform WorldFootballPlayer, which was launched this spring, Jonas wants to help football players and clubs to match globally. The goal is to open up the world of football and make it a little easier and better.
- Until now, CMG has focused on professional female football players and coaches, but through our new collaboration, together we have the opportunity to offer more female footballers the chance to showcase their skills to clubs around the world, Jonas continues.
Globally, there are 265 million registered footballers, but only 130 000 of them play at the highest level.
- The idea is that female footballers who for various reasons do not become part of CMG's agency can instead create a player profile on WorldFootballPlayer and search for clubs that way instead. "CMG wants to strengthen female sports and create professional conditions, and this is one way," Jonas concludes.
To meet the needs of clubs, the platform is built around the skills that are usually in demand, such as ball skills, position on the pitch and whether a player is right- or left-footed. A club looking for a right-footed right-back should be able to easily search the platform based on those criteria.
Since the beginning of the year, WorldFootballPlayer is part of our incubator.
