How can we make better use of marine resources while creating growth and sustainable solutions? This is at the heart of the Blue Collaboration project, which builds bridges between business, research and academia to develop innovations in the blue bioeconomy. By linking business and research, we create new opportunities for coastal communities and rural areas to grow and develop.
Blue Collaboration builds on the experience of the Collaborative Platform for Biomedical Industries and takes the next step to strengthen the blue bioeconomy. Through networking, skills enhancement and collaboration with Halland's blue business development, companies and other actors gain better access to knowledge, new contacts and opportunities to test and demonstrate their innovations. The project also promotes industrial symbiosis, where residual flows can be reused more intelligently and create greater value in the blue economy.
The project also helps to create important meeting places, such as the Nordic Seafood Summit, and supports startups, scaleups and matchmaking to drive new business opportunities and strengthen competitiveness in the region. Through increased knowledge exchange, the innovation support will be more targeted and valuable for companies in the blue bioeconomy.
Blå Samverkan is not just about growth - it is also about building a sustainable future. Through strong links to academia and investments in social sustainability, climate and gender equality, we are laying the foundation for more sustainable development. Through collaboration across regional borders, between municipalities, businesses and research actors, West Sweden is consolidating its position as a leading region in the blue bioeconomy.
