Trollhättan startup Chassis Autonomy is developing a groundbreaking and world-unique control system for autonomous vehicles. The company has now signed a letter of intent with the global group Kongsberg Automotive, paving the way for a potential long-term commercial collaboration on the development, manufacture and sale of the technology.
- This is just the first step to a number of upcoming agreements that will set us up for further development and growth. "Our goal is to become the 'enabler' of safe autonomous vehicles by eliminating the technical limitations that exist today. Our unique steer by wire safety system will set the standard in the future," says Peter Johansson, co-founder and CEO of Chassis Autonomy.
Framework for discussions on future cooperation
Chassis Autonomy and Kongsberg Automotive see great opportunities for mutual utilization of expertise, capacity and facilities between the parties for the growing autonomous market segment.
The signed MoU provides a framework for future discussions on the cooperation and support structure between the parties. The discussions are expected to start immediately. The future agreements will then describe the cooperation structure and it may then also be relevant that Kongsberg Automotive takes shareholdings in Chassis Autonomy.
- This LOI is a result of the discussions we have had with Kongsberg Automotive where we have identified clear technical and commercial synergies. This while we now have the next prototype series CS1-steer-by-wire of our steering actuator. We look forward to working with the team at Kongsberg Automotive to explore in more detail the future collaboration," says Thomas Li, co-founder and CTO of Chassis Autonomy.
