CBIC - Cross-Border Industrial Capacity

A Swedish-Norwegian industrial accelerator for stronger companies

CBIC, Cross Border Industrial Capacity, is a Swedish-Norwegian collaborative project that helps small and medium-sized industrial companies develop their capacity, strengthen their delivery capabilities, and create new business opportunities. Through collaboration between the industrial communities in Fyrbodal and Raufoss, we develop methods, expertise, and networks that make it easier for companies to grow, adapt, and establish themselves in new industrial value chains. The goal is for more companies to be able to take the next step in industrialization, quality, documentation, and supplier qualification.

What does your company get?

CBIC brings together strengths from two complementary industrial sectors. Raufoss contributes experience in automated mass production, industrial quality, and requirements-driven deliveries. Fyrbodal contributes a broad supplier base, product development, production technology, and adaptability drawn from the automotive industry, among others.

Through CBIC, companies can:

• identify strengths, areas for improvement, and production capacity
• receive support regarding quality, documentation, and delivery requirements
• draw on specialized expertise from Sweden and Norway
• participate in pilot and qualification initiatives
• find new partnerships and business opportunities
• strengthen its ability to grow and meet the demands of the industry in the future

The project is based on a joint Swedish-Norwegian model in which companies receive support based on their actual needs. Through assessments, analyses, development initiatives, and testing activities, participants gain the tools they need to take the next step, whether their goal is to grow, reach new customers, or become part of new industrial partnerships.

An important aspect is circular expertise, in which knowledge, experience, and specialized resources are shared among companies, industries, and regions. This gives companies access to resources that can be difficult to build up on their own.

Objectives of the project

CBIC aims to strengthen competitiveness, adaptability, and delivery capacity in the industrial communities around Fyrbodal and Raufoss.

By the end of the project, a joint Swedish-Norwegian model for industrial capacity development will have been developed and tested. The project will also have carried out pilot and qualification processes that strengthen companies’ capabilities in production, quality, documentation, and supplier qualification.

The project is run by Innovatum Science Park in collaboration with Vaager Innovasjon in Norway and is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized industrial companies in Fyrbodal, Västra Götaland, and the Raufoss region.
