Uddevall residents Oscar Skaresund and Wilma Samuelsson want to make it easier for people to be reunited with their lost pets or belongings. After winning Startup of the Year at the annual UF fair in Fyrbodal, QR-home won a place in our incubator where they now receive support and help.
QR-home's updateable and reusable information tags, equipped with QR codes, make it easy for anyone to access contact information and quickly reunite lost pets or other lost items with their owners.
Runaway puppy was the start
The idea was born when some young guys, in Wilma's home area, tried to find the owners of a lost puppy. It took them several hours, and when they found out that the dog was microchipped, they had no way of reading the chip without professional help.
The guys couldn't take the dog to either the police or the fire department to read the chip, as they didn't have a car. Their only tool was their cell phone. That's when the idea of using QR codes to quickly and easily connect owners with their lost pets was born.
- That's when the idea was born that there must be an easier way to reunite pets back home, in a way that everyone, regardless of age, can help," says Wilma.
