The project is funded by:

EU-funded

Blue Bio Clusters is a 3-year project aimed at strengthening and developing the blue and biomarine industries regionally, nationally and internationally.

The overall objective of the project is to support companies in the blue bioeconomy with tools and methods for innovation and business development. By joining forces with regional stakeholders, the project will promote the development and sustainable growth of blue businesses, thereby strengthening European coastal communities.

Examples of tools and activities we work with in Blue Bio Clusters:

  • Support start-ups and SMEs with connections to experts, mentors and investors who can accelerate business development of blue business ideas across the EU.
  • Showcase integrated and circular blue bioeconomy value chains that can serve as models and inspiration for other European coastal communities.
  • Support companies in integrating ecosystem services into new ecology-driven business models.

The project will also map and identify weak links in bio-based value chains and increase collaboration and contact between biomarina clusters internationally. Innovatum Science Park represents Sweden, based in the Västra Götaland region, as one of the participants from 12 EU countries.
