Skagerrak test arena

The project is funded by:

EU-funded

The Skagerrak Test Arena enables companies to test and develop marine innovations in real-world environments – faster and with lower risk.

Why this project?

Companies wishing to develop new marine products, technologies, and business models often encounter high barriers. Testing in a marine environment requires access to the right infrastructure, expertise, and permits—something that is rarely available in one place. Test Arena Skagerrak meets this need by bringing together stakeholders and resources in a shared testing environment where innovation can take place in practice.

The aim is to strengthen companies' innovative capacity in the blue bioeconomy through practical testing and cross-border collaboration.
The goal is to enable more ideas to be tested, verified, and scaled up—with a shorter path from development to market.

Expected effects and results

  • Reduced risk in early development phases
  • Faster innovation and commercialization processes
  • Strengthened competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises
  • Increased collaboration between industry, research, and public actors
