Empowering sustainable transitions for Baltic and North Sea blue communities
BlueActionBANOS is a Horizon Europe project that supports blue actors and initiatives in local communities around the Baltic and North Seas. The aim is to restore our seas and waters while strengthening a circular and sustainable blue economy.
How BlueActionBANOS supports stakeholders
- Targeted funding support - 5 large-scale community-driven interventions (€200,000-2 million) and 20 transition agendas (up to €100,000).
- Tailored technical support - mentoring, experience sharing and best practices from across the Mission Ocean ecosystem.
- Strategic knowledge sharing - through platforms such as BlueBioMatch and through transnational cooperation.
Next steps in Mission Ocean
BlueActionBANOS (BAB) takes Mission Ocean further - from pilot projects to large-scale solutions. The project builds on the experience of the four-year initiative BlueMissionBANOS and takes the next step by creating more opportunities for local actors around the Baltic Sea and the North Sea to go from idea to real results.
The goal is clear: to work together to create innovative interventions that help restore our oceans and waters - and build a sustainable blue future.
About the project
BlueActionBANOS is supported by 18 partners from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Poland.
