TAKO - Technology for monitoring biomass in commercial seaweed farming
How do you monitor growth in large seaweed farms far out at sea? The project is developing digital technology that makes it possible to…
The project is funded by:
There is a significant transition towards a fossil-free society, which particularly affects industries and transportation. Electrification is a key factor in enabling this transition and in driving the development and establishment of new businesses. Forecasts show a doubling of electricity consumption in Sweden by 2050 and a tripling already by 2045 in the industry-dense Västra Götaland region.
The project is carried out in collaboration with, among others, Region Halland, Chalmers and several of Västra Götaland's municipal associations and is aimed at increasing the production of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and bioenergy and promoting the use of technologies and methods that strengthen these energy types or reduce electricity consumption. Using methods such as battery storage and hydrogen are examples of how we can reduce the risks of fluctuations from uneven production systems.
The project focuses on three main areas:
Advice and support
We create meeting points between companies offering renewable energy solutions and companies looking to invest in renewable energy. Through individual advice and local events, we promote investment and collaboration.
Methods and tools
We develop and disseminate tools and methods for SMEs, which facilitate investments in renewable energy. We focus on increasing knowledge about renewable energy sources and technical aspects.
Startup
We are strengthening the regional innovation system and increasing the number of applications from renewable energy entrepreneurs for Innovatum Science Park's incubator.
