"DecarbonAIte keeps us at the forefront"

Digital tools developed in the DecarbonAIte project can play a key role in saving climate impact, time and money in the construction and housing sector.

- It is interesting how digital twins will be able to be used to produce well-founded decision-making data, so that you get in black and white how a change affects the renovation calculation and how the climate impact changes in the long run, says Christer Kilersjö, CEO of Eksta Bostads AB in Kungsbacka.

The tools developed under the DecarbonAIte project will help increase the rate of renovation and thus reduce the climate impact of buildings across Europe. Eksta Bostads AB is participating as a representative of the need owners and will test the prototype versions developed by the project.

Optimizing renovations

DecarbonAyte's tools go beyond renovation planning and include climate calculations, life cycle cost analyses and energy measures. In a renovation of 100 apartments, where not all factors are always clear, the tools can be used to optimize solutions.

-The tools allow you to run different scenarios and see the effects without affecting the building itself. With several upcoming renovation projects, it can be very helpful to support the choice of the right method and to communicate why certain measures are chosen over others.

Christer Kilersjö hopes that the results from DecarbonAIte can be incorporated into a user-friendly tool that is easy to use.

- It is more important that it is easy to use, good enough, than that it has too high a level of detail.
