NILLA-National Innovation Support System - Equal and Accessible for All

Fresh fruits and vegetables from Sweden

The project is funded by:

EU-funded

The national project NILLA aims to develop a model that increases accessibility and optimizes innovation support for companies. The project focuses on the food system, but the cooperation model is also intended to be adaptable for other industries. The food system is particularly suitable as an arena for this new, updated cooperation model, as in many areas the food system is not as established as other value chains.

The aim of the project is to create a basic model for cross-sectoral and cross-regional cooperation, which will increase the competitiveness and innovation capacity of companies. An overall goal is to develop a cross-border and cross-sectoral collaboration model for a national, equivalent and easily accessible innovation support system. This will make it easier for companies to find the right actors within the support system through an interface adapted to different target groups and needs, and give them access to the best expertise and the most modern infrastructure.

Investment in biorefining in Västra Götaland

The sub-project in Västra Götaland will result in:

  • Development of a user model: A user model for a biorefinery test bed has been developed and tested together with companies, producers and the processing industry to increase the utilization of by-products from the food industry and the companies' competence in biorefinery.
  • Collaboration with existing projects: The biorefinery is used in collaboration with projects such as WaSeaBi, BlueBio, BlueValue and Marefine, to translate research into societal benefits and support companies' technology development and innovation journeys.
  • Strengthened regional collaboration and infrastructure: The project highlights and exposes Västra Götaland's collaboration and infrastructure for food innovation at national level, which creates demand and attractiveness for both ongoing and future initiatives.
  • Increased competitiveness and sustainability: Biorefining contributes to strengthening the region's and the country's innovation capacity, promotes a circular economy and creates new business models and growth for companies.
  • National dissemination of models: The developed user models and collaboration models in Västra Götaland and Skåne can be scaled up and implemented nationally, enabling a more efficient and accessible innovation support system for companies throughout Sweden.

Together we can create a more innovative, sustainable and competitive food system in Sweden. For more information about the NILLA project and how your company can benefit from the project, you are welcome to contact us!
