Gothenburg Fish Auction stand at Nordic Seafood Summit

The Nordic Seafood Summit, the first fair to bring together seafood actors from the entire value chain, was a success.
- The reactions from the participants have been very positive. The fair filled a great need and was a fantastic forum to meet in, says Susanne Ekstedt, innovation manager at Innovatum Science Park, which co-organized the fair.

The Nordic Seafood Summit took place over two days at the Waterfront in Stockholm and was attended by representatives of all stakeholders in the seafood industry - from fishermen and farmers to wholesalers, processors, retailers, restaurants, researchers, policy makers and authorities.

- We are very satisfied. It's a good meeting place with a steady stream of customers and we have received both new customer projects and good contacts," say Veronica Apelquist and Roger Karlsson from BD Fisk.

In total, the fair brought together about forty exhibitors and many visitors, there were panel discussions on everything from fisheries policy to ecolabeling, exciting lectures on future investments in the industry and a long series of company pitches.

- "People are really open to listening to what we do and finding ways to collaborate," says Christine Hebert, founder of Blue Lobster, a seafood logistics solution.

The Nordic Seafood Summit 2024 will be held in January and will take place at Eriksberg, in Gothenburg.

- We have already started planning and there is a lot of interest in next year's fair, many companies have contacted us and want to participate and we look forward to developing the concept further, says Susanne Ekstedt.
