Making space more accessible. A finalist in Innovation Power!

Last updated: 2021-03-02 01:09

Fureho

Start-up Fureho has been selected as one of five finalists in the Innovation Power competition. The company is developing a lightweight material that solves the acute weight problem facing the space industry.

Fureho is solving the pressing problem facing the space industry: creating lighter spacecraft and reducing costs, which in turn makes space more accessible to humans. By making the material lighter, positive effects are created at several levels, such as reduced fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, which in turn leads to a reduction in negative environmental impact.

The company was founded in 2017 and is run by Prarthanaa Khokar, Nandan Khokar and Fredrik Winberg. The business idea behind it was founded through Nandan Kokar's PhD research at Chalmers. The idea has been exposed at an early stage to potential customers and other stakeholders in the market, which has given the team a basis for finding their USP.

Since the spring of 2020, Fureho has received support via our startup incubator. The company is also admitted to the national space incubator ESA-BIC , which we help run.

On March 2, the winner of the Innovation Power competition will be announced.
