MIRA - Winner of the Archus Sustainability Innovation Award 2025

Start-up MIRA, led by Angela Segerqvist, has developed a digital tool that simplifies building inventories, increases recycling rates and gives property owners better control over hazardous waste and costs. MIRA has now won the Archus Sustainability Innovation Award 2025.

- It is a great honor to receive this award! The goal of MIRA is to create a tool that contributes to a construction industry where people's health is protected and resources are used more intelligently. A tool that identifies both asbestos and other hazardous waste, while opening doors to circular material flows and a more sustainable future. The fact that the jury has now recognized our work shows that we are on the right track," says Angela Segerqvist, CEO and founder of MIRA.

The award was presented during Business Arena Stockholm on September 17.

Every year, around 10,000 material inventories are carried out in Sweden alone. The idea for MIRA was born when Angela herself worked as a materials inventor and experienced how inefficient and risky the traditional, manual inventory method is.

She saw how the inventory results in the form of static PDFs and Excel sheets were difficult to interpret, and often lacked the level of detail required to make accurate cost calculations. Important information was often lost, hazardous materials such as asbestos and freons risked being missed, and the potential for recycling was rarely exploited.

MIRA collects drawings, photos, sample points and analyses digitally and highlights potential circular material flows.

- " We want to set a new standard for building inventories and help the industry become more circular and safe," Angela concludes.

MIRA has been part of Innovatum Science Park's incubator in Trollhättan since spring 2025.

Winner's motivation

"Through its digital platform for material inventories, MIRA makes the construction industry both more circular and safer. With higher precision, reduced climate impact and benefits for the entire value chain, MIRA shows the way towards a more sustainable future."

The Archus Sustainability Innovation Prize is awarded annually to an actor or innovation that contributes to ecological, social or economic sustainability in the Swedish construction and real estate sector.
