New business idea competition launched!

Do you have an innovative business idea? We are now launching the Innovatum Science Park Startup Challenge business idea competition. The prize is a grant of SEK 25,000 and a place in our incubator. The scholarship is given in collaboration with Swedbank and Sparbankstiftelsen väst.

- "We are looking for people with innovative business ideas who want to take the chance to realize them. We know that there are many driven people around Fyrbodal and our hope is that the competition can attract them," says Eivind Vogel-Rödin, Head of Operations at Innovatum Science Park's incubator.

The winner will receive Swedbank's entrepreneurship grant of SEK 25,000 and be admitted to the incubator at Innovatum Science Park.

- Being part of the incubator has many advantages for those who are in the starting blocks. We are a team of entrepreneurs who guide with tips and advice on the business choices. This can range from advice on business models to how to finance your product or service. We help to open doors and contribute with important contacts that are often essential in the beginning," continues Eivind.

Part of the prize is also that you get access to our new premises in Trollhättan with conference rooms, workspaces and a makerspace with, among other things, a 3D printer.

The competition, which runs until October 17, is open to business ideas in all types of industries. The important thing is that the solutions presented fill a clear need in the market, that they are innovative, have great growth potential and that they contribute in one way or another to sustainable development. You can compete alone or in teams.

Open to ideas in all sectors

- "At Swedbank, we believe that entrepreneurship is incredibly important for growth in our local area. Four out of five jobs are created through smaller companies and the competition is an important forum to inspire more people to realize their ideas," says Tobias Hellberg, bank manager for Swedbank in Trollhättan and Vänersborg.

The competition ends with a final in Trollhättan on November 19 during the Tech InWest Sweden event where the winner will be announced. But before that, the competitors who move on will participate in a professional "pitch training" to sharpen their sales skills.

- A success factor for successfully selling your idea to others is to be able to present it concisely and powerfully, concludes Eivind.
