During his years as an electrician, Svante Olsson from Trollhättan experienced a number of problems that could be solved in a smarter way. Among other things, he threw away thousands of meters of flexible pipes - completely unnecessarily. This is where the idea for the start-up Elektroskutt and his first product Dutts was born - a small device that keeps the flexible pipes in place and ensures that they do not go back into the wall.
The business idea behind Elektroskutt is to develop innovative and sustainable products that make electricians' everyday lives easier and more efficient. And here Svante has clearly succeeded. Millions of Dutts have already been sold, and in 2022 it was awarded the Electricity Innovation of the Year. In addition, Svante has released three more products (Klicks, Blocks and Stepps) and more are on the way.
Since the start and until this spring, Svante has received business development support and help through our incubator. Product development has taken place in our Makerspace where Svante has been able to 3D print prototypes of his products to test, further develop and demonstrate to others.
We at Innovatum Science Park are proud and happy about Svante's win and hope that it inspires more young entrepreneurs to test and further develop their ideas.
The winner's motivation:
It is said that all great inventions are born out of human need. Therefore, the people who see problems are extremely valuable in moving us forward.
The Young Entrepreneur of the Year has not only identified difficulties, he has also solved them and realized several innovations. He has also had the courage to manufacture in Sweden and involved some unexpected players in production. Perhaps we have a new Håkan Lans in the making. What is certain is that the Young Entrepreneur of the Year has hardly contributed his last invention.
