Electrification journey of municipalities

The need for electricity and power is rapidly increasing in Västra Götaland and is crucial to cope with the industrial transition that has now taken off. To accelerate the electrification journey, Region Västra Götaland (VGR) offers its municipalities support for planning electricity grid issues or renewable electricity production.  

More and faster are the key words. Municipalities, groups of municipalities or associations of municipalities in Västra Götaland can receive support in various forms through the initiative. Among other things, VGR can share up to 50 percent of external costs for the production of policy documents that deal with electricity network issues and/or aim to increase renewable electricity production. 

West Sweden Energy Agency, which is part of Innovatum Science Park, is leading the process of this initiative by Region Västra Götaland called 'Municipal Electrification Journey'.
