S2C

The project is funded by:

EU-funded

S2C is an EU-funded Interreg project that aims to increase the number of sustainable and energy-efficient public buildings. The project aims to raise awareness and change attitudes towards sustainable construction.

Based on a pilot project in each country, S2C develops tools and models on what public actors should do to get the most sustainability, energy efficiency and circularity for their money. The Swedish pilot project is the Hoppet preschool being built by the City of Gothenburg.

The project will look at design, choice of building materials, construction site design and operation of the building. Models and experiences from the project will be used by public actors to drive development forward.

Sweden's pilot project is the Hoppet preschool. Hoppet is a concrete initiative to stimulate innovation, generate knowledge and create better conditions for fossil-free construction. The first goal is to build a preschool with fossil-free materials and methods - from raw material extraction to construction site and operation. Hoppet started construction in September 2020 on Backa kyrkogata in Gothenburg. You can read more about Hoppet here.
