Harpad

Ljungskile-based start-up Harpad wants to make it easier for creative guitarists to avoid buying and carrying multiple guitars. Their product converts 6-string guitars into 12-string guitars in seconds. A crowdfunding campaign is currently underway with the aim of increasing sales globally.

- We have already sold some internationally but we want to go big! By selling larger quantities, we can bring down the price and thus attract a wider audience. We are convinced that there are many creative guitarists globally who benefit greatly from a Harpad," says co-founder Josefin Fredén.

Producers, band members and guitarists

The crowdfunding campaign takes place via the digital platform Indiegogo, where private individuals can buy products in advance and thus support projects. Harpad's campaign involves marketing the guitar accessory widely and selling the product at a reduced price for a limited period.

- The goal is to get at least 300 pre-orders. We believe that it is mainly producers, band members and home guitarists who will bite. String manufacturers and guitar repair shops also benefit greatly from a Harpad as it makes it possible to test different strings on the same guitar," Josefin continues.

The markets the team hopes to reach out to include the US, Canada and Europe.

- We target affluent countries with many guitarists and musicians.

Unexpected customer benefit when guitarists tested

Since its inception, the guitar accessory has been tested by hundreds of guitarists and the product has been developed based on their input.

- "We developed Harpad with the aim of making it easy for more people to play 12-string guitars without having to spend a lot of money on purchases or carry around two guitars. An unexpected and positive customer benefit that has emerged when the product has been tested is that it simplifies the grip for people with small hands, concludes Josefin.

Harpad AB was founded in 2018 by Ljungskileborna Josefin and Samuel Fredén. Since then, they have received business development support via the startup incubator at Innovatum Science Park.
