Mareld wins the Venture Cup

On Thursday evening, the national winners of Sweden's largest entrepreneurship competition Venture Cup were announced. Mareld, whose technology streamlines testing processes in the food industry, won the Beyond Academic category.

The Beyond Academic category is for startups where at least one team member is a student, PhD student or researcher and has the greatest potential to take the idea from academia to industry.

Reduces test time up to 89%

All food consumed by humans has to undergo numerous tests that ensure the quality of the products. Today, the process is time-consuming and for a dairy producing 55,000 liters of milk per hour, or a packaging producer producing 82 tons of material per hour, every minute and hour matters.

Mareld has developed technology that can provide a prediction of the result after just 8 hours, reducing testing time by up to 89%.

In May, Mareld became regional winners of the Venture Cup. They also won the Innovatum Science Parks Award, which led to a place in our incubator where they now receive business development support.
