- We are extremely grateful to have won the Innovatum Science Park Award! We are very much looking forward to benefiting from the network, expertise and lessons learned that Innovatum has to offer. I have a feeling that we can achieve great things together," says Viktor Wiren, co-founder of Mareld.
All food consumed by humans has to undergo numerous tests that ensure the quality of the products. Today, the process is time-consuming and for a dairy producing 55,000 liters of milk per hour, or a packaging producer producing 82 tons of material per hour, every minute and hour matters.
Mareld, led by Viktor Wiren and Gustav Palm, has developed technology that can predict results after just 8 hours, reducing testing time by up to 89%.
As the winner of the Innovatum Science Park Award, Mareld will receive SEK 10,000. They are also offered a place in Innovatum Science Park's incubator where they will receive business development support from coaches who have made startup journeys themselves, help with contacts, networks, financing issues and a lot more.
- Mareld are truly worthy winners! We award the prize to recognize entrepreneurs who develop smart innovations with the potential to have a positive impact on society. We also want to highlight the help that is available to us in Trollhättan. Especially for startups in sustainable industry where we can offer large networks and a unique test and demo environment through the Production Technology Center, says incubator manager Eivind Vogel-Rödin.
With its innovative technology, Mareld has the potential to revolutionize the food industry's testing processes in a way that promotes sustainable development. By reducing testing time by up to 89%, invaluable time is saved, while promoting consumer safety and reducing unnecessary food waste.
Through customer-funded pilot projects, the team has confirmed at an early stage that their technology is not only groundbreaking, but also relevant and in demand in the market.
With a clear roadmap and an international focus, Mareld is poised for global scale-up. The team is credible, genuine and driven and their passion for improving the food industry is infectious.
Safe food on the plate and less food to waste! Worthy winners of the Innovatum Science Park Award 2024 are Mareld.
