In total, 22 people with nine different business ideas will receive help through the initiative. The winners include start-up JA companies, students at University West and entrepreneurial individuals.
- It's a fantastic mix of smart product ideas that we look forward to realizing! Only the imagination sets the limits for prototype development using additive manufacturing. It's great that there has been so much interest in this opportunity. We are now looking forward to coaching these future entrepreneurs," says Eivind Vogel-Rödin, Head of Startup Operations at Innovatum Science Park.
One of the winners is Katharina Russ, a mechanical engineering student at University West. Her business idea is a hands-free toothbrush that can improve the quality of life for people with disabilities that limit them in everyday life. The idea was born after she herself worked in healthcare and witnessed at close quarters how people with progressive diseases such as MS, in a short time lost the ability to brush their teeth themselves. Through her product, she wants to give back the feeling of self-determination.
The aim of the initiative is to get more young Trollhätte residents to realize their business ideas and inspire them to entrepreneurship. Applications for the package have been open since the beginning of October and anyone up to the age of 35 can apply.
Over the next few weeks, the winners will receive help from professional CAD designers to produce drawings of their products. Once the drawings are in place, they will be helped to 3D print their prototypes in Innovatum Science Park's prototype workshop.
They will also be offered a place in the pre-incubator - a 12-week program at Innovatum Science Park where they will work with other aspiring entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and learn more about sustainable entrepreneurship.
