Edda Pay nominated for Startup of the Year

Edda Pay is a Trollhätte-based startup founded in April 2024 by Sofia Svärdh (former Head of Production at Storytel), Angel Kirkegaard (former Design Lead at Storytel) and Daniel Bodner (former CTO at Storytel).

During the Trollhättan Business Awards on March 6, Innovatum Science Park will present the Startup of the Year award. Edda Pay is one of three nominated companies.

The three former Storytel executives have developed a digital service that gives the book industry what it has long been asking for – real-time sales data and flexible payments to authors.

In 2025, the team took early but important steps to transform the book industry.

They launched the Edda Pay platform, which lays the foundation for a more sustainable and fair structure for both authors and publishers.

They raised nearly $6 million in venture capital, carried out pilot projects, and signed one of Sweden's largest publishers as their first customer. The publisher has now activated the service for all its authors in several countries.

The core team consists of Sofia Svärdh, Daniel Bodner, and Angel Kirkegaard.
