Grewbik - the bike that grows with your child

Grewbik prototype

After months of development, testing and adjustments, the first prototype of Grewbik is ready - the modular children's bike that grows with your child!

In the winter of 2023, Antonio Budes was one of the winners of the Young Entrepreneurs initiative in Trollhättan, where nine young teams received professional help to design, 3D print and further develop their product ideas. Since spring 2024, he has been developing Grewbik in our incubator.

Children grow fast, and traditional bikes quickly become too small. Grewbik is an ergonomic children's bike with a customizable frame that can be adjusted to the child's height and age. The idea is to contribute to environmental benefits and economic sustainability by reducing the need for families to buy multiple bikes as their children grow up.

Since the video of the Grewbik prototype was shared on social media, lots of positive feedback has been received.

-"The response has been fantastic! The next step is now further development of the prototype, adjustments based on test results and continued dialog with both families with children and industry professionals, says Antonio.

We at Innovatum Science Park have also received questions from parents of older children about whether Grewbik will also be released in larger models. Here is Antonio's answer:

-We will start launching and selling this variant with five sizes (12, 14, 14, 18 and 20 inches). Next year we plan to launch models from 20 inches and up, where the same bike can be used until the child is 16 to 18 years old.

What has the support from the incubator meant?

- The support from the incubator has been invaluable to me and the Grewbik project. Having access to a dedicated team of business coaches and a network of experts has given me valuable help with both the business model and the strategy going forward. I have received concrete support with everything from clarifying my strategy and moving the project forward, to finding manufacturers and understanding the steps required to bring a prototype to market. In short, the journey would have been much more difficult without the support," Antonio concludes.
