Springboard

Production technology center seen from above with robots and people in motion

Springboard aims to provide the region's aerospace and engineering companies with the conditions to contribute to a greener aviation industry. In a first step, this is done by upgrading the Production Technology Center (PTC) in Trollhättan to meet the needs of companies.

Today, there is great interest in contributing to more sustainable development in both the aerospace and engineering industries. Springboard stage 1 will create the conditions for the development of new manufacturing methods that can, among other things, enable lighter aircraft, new propulsion systems and increased use of renewable fuels.

The project builds on the previous investments that have been made in the PTC's infrastructure in the form of premises and equipment. Some fifteen companies and organizations are already members of the PTC, and by upgrading the arena, the hope is to attract several new players who want to be involved in developing the manufacturing industry. The innovative environment created when large and small companies meet together with both universities and research institutes is a breeding ground for new business ideas, competitiveness and growth.

In addition to upgrading and acquiring new equipment, the project will organize activities to develop an operational model for the future PTC and prepare for the remaining parts of Springboard.
