Loading for Nordic Seafood Summit in Gothenburg

This year's successful seafood trade fair, the Nordic Seafood Summit, will be repeated in 2024, this time in Gothenburg on January 24-25.

The Nordic Seafood Summit brings together the entire value chain, from fishermen and farmers to wholesalers, the processing industry, retailers, restaurants, researchers, decision-makers and authorities. The event therefore offers a unique opportunity for all industry players to gain a broad insight into the industry's conditions, challenges and opportunities. In January, it was premiered at Stockholm Waterfront, the next Nordic Seafood Summit will be organized in Eriksbergshallen in Gothenburg.

- "The aim is to replicate the sense of community and forward thinking we had last time by focusing on solutions rather than problems, on the future rather than the past, and on what unites rather than what creates conflict," says Susanne Ekstedt, Innovation Manager at Innovatum Science Park.

"High pressure on participation"

At Eriksberg in January, you will be able to take part in the latest products, news and discussions and meet both visitors and industry colleagues.

- There is already a lot of pressure to participate in the fair and some are booked up. But it's not too late to register your interest as an exhibitor, sponsor or for other collaboration," says Susanne Ekstedt.

For greater sustainability

The organizers' goal is to create a platform for dialogue and inspiration on how to jointly meet the challenges that exist, while creating better conditions both economically and in terms of sustainability for the industry as a whole.

- "We want to be part of creating an infrastructure for the Scandinavian seafood industry where we enable better products, promote more collaborations and highlight the industry's challenges and opportunities. A meeting place like the Nordic Seafood Summit is fully in line with this work," says Joakim Petersen, CEO of Finnvacum.

Lifting Swedish seafood

The Nordic Seafood Summit is sponsored by the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) and one of the new partners is the Swedish Seafood Federation.

- Unfortunately, Swedish seafood is often overlooked, despite the fact that our industry employs several thousand people in Sweden and is the largest employer in several coastal municipalities with a turnover of over SEK 30 billion. The Nordic Seafood Summit provides an opportunity to not only talk about our industry, but also taste it. Together we have the opportunity to increase both knowledge and pride in our companies and the industry in Sweden and showcase the potential of seafood in the Swedish market," says Krishan Kent, Chairman of the Board of the Swedish Seafood Federation.
