Trollhättan has long played a key role in the aerospace industry and we are a world leader in robotic 3D printing in metal. Here, cutting-edge expertise, established infrastructure, strong networks and world-leading research are gathered in one place.

Through our collaborations and partnerships, we open doors to both civilian and defense-related markets locally, nationally and internationally.

We cooperate with the Armed Forces

In October, the Swedish Armed Forces established a presence in Trollhättan through the Advanced Manufacturing Coordination Center (AMCC). AMCC is a strategic collaboration between the Swedish Armed Forces, University West, GKN Aerospace, WaamLaabz, the City of Trollhättan and us at Innovatum Science Park. AMCC brings together civilian and military expertise to build new national production capacity where 3D printing provides fast and sustainable spare parts manufacturing.

Membership of the Aerospace Cluster

As a participant in the accelerator, you get free membership of Aerospace Cluster - the national cluster for the aerospace industry. Here you make contacts with leading players such as Beyond Gravity, GKN Aerospace, Saab and SSC as well as about sixty member companies from all over the country. Membership gives you access to networking activities, conferences and seminars, where you can position yourself and find new collaborations in both civil and military space and aviation projects.

For those who want to enter the aviation industry

Are you aiming for the aerospace industry and need help to meet the industry's strict quality and safety requirements? The Certifly project, which includes GKN Aerospace and Saab, will help you work towards AS9100 and Nadcap certification - crucial keys to becoming a supplier in global supply chains.

We run ESA BIC Sweden

For over ten years, we have been running the West Swedish node of ESA BIC Sweden - the space incubator for companies using space technology or developing applications for space. This has given us a strong network within the Swedish and international space industry, and close contact with ESA experts and partners. Through us, you get access to opportunities and contacts that help you develop technologies with potential both for space and for civil and defense-related applications here on earth.
The Production Technology Center in Trollhättan is today a world-leading test and demo environment where new technologies are developed.

Production Technology Center (PTC)

The Production Technology Center (PTC) offers a world-leading metal 3D printing ecosystem, bringing together global industry, research and startups. We are one of the main partners and among the companies in the ecosystem are GKN Aerospace, SAAB, BAE Systems, Kockums, and Combitech.

Swedish Space Innovation Cooperation

We are part of the Swedish Space Innovation Cooperation (SSIC) project, which has secured SEK 35.5 million in funding over the next five years. The project will strengthen and simplify digital collaboration in the space sector and create structured collaborations with key players such as the Swedish National Space Board, ESA, industry partners and investors nationally and internationally.

The future is 3D printed in Trollhättan

GKN Aerospace is Sweden's largest industrial company in the aerospace industry. They are headquartered in Trollhättan and in 2024 they inaugurated a world-unique factory for additive manufacturing. The facility will be the hub for innovations in the manufacture of aircraft components.
