Want to make everyday life easier for visually impaired people

Last updated: 2024-10-24 09:35

Camilla Andersson had an idea that she had carried with her for many years. She wanted to create products that made everyday life easier for visually impaired people after an old school friend of hers had difficulty finding a gift for her blind son. Now she chooses to invest in her idea and learns all about entrepreneurship through our pre-incubator.

In his company, Mixad Design, and with our 3D printing course as inspiration - Camilla started creating products for visually impaired people. But the technology she used at the beginning didn't get good enough results tactilely to realize her vision.

-"The idea was there, but I didn't get any further," says Camilla

The pre-incubator helped her broaden her perspective

Before joining the pre-incubator , Camilla felt the entrepreneurial journey was big and lonely. Now, about halfway through the course, she says the pre-incubator has helped her get a better overview of how she can take her idea to the next level, while the conversations with other course participants have helped her broaden her perspective.

"The idea was initially to target only visually impaired people, but through feedback from the other participants in the pre-incubator, I realized that there was a broader customer group," Camilla continues

In the coming weeks, participants will learn more about marketing, how to get in touch with customers and stakeholders, and how best to pitch their idea to investors and others.

We look forward to continuing to follow Camilla's journey and seeing her product ideas improve the lives of visually impaired people!
