Automation Day 2023

Record number of participants at this year's Automation Day

This year's Automation Day once again broke records and increased the number of participants from last year. 120 companies, 24 exhibitors and almost 300 participants met on November 30 to take part in the latest in automation and digitization for the manufacturing industry.

The annual event Automation Day has attracted visitors from technology companies, industry, researchers and university students since 2014. This year, the focus was on developments in AI and its use in industry, we also got a closer look at various automation projects and circularity.

Through a dozen seminars, current challenges and trends in the manufacturing industry were highlighted. Representatives from, among others, Evoma, Wargön Innovation, Gothenburg Technical College and NOVO Energy gave inspiring lectures on several highly topical issues. For example, how simulation and AI can solve very complex problems. About the importance of diversity and inclusion in technology and how a giant project like building a new battery factory can be done.

Much appreciated among the participants were our exhibitors who showed exciting products and services at the Production Technology Center. The mingle brought together industry colleagues, researchers, suppliers and students to discuss and learn about new technology solutions and services. There was automation equipment, robots, measurement technology, new products and concepts for skills development to be inspired by.

This is better than a regular technology fair because the event is niche and we who meet here are interested in the same thing, says Anders Mejlvang, exhibitor at Automation Day and Sales Manager at Winteria.

We also had a chat with Matilda Hurtig from Göteborg Technical College and Mikel Ayani from Simumatik who told us about their experience at Automation Day. See their interviews and some other glimpses from the Automation Day in the movie.

The Automation Day was led by moderator Karin Stenlund from Fyrbodals Kommunalförbund. The event was organized by Innovatum Science Park, University West and IUC West and could be followed both on site at Lilla Nova and online.

Save the date!

Next year, Automation Day celebrates 10 years and will of course be celebrated.
The date is set for Thursday, November 28, 2024 - hope to see you then!
